Anantnag,17 Feb:

After the results for class 10th were announced today in the Kashmir division, not a single student from a government high school in the Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag District could pass the Matric exams that were conducted in Nov-Dec 2021.
According to the official sources, Government High School Wantrag -Mattan ,only 9 candidates appeared in class 10th exams. However, not a single student has passed in class 10th this year. The same government school witnessed 0% pass percentage last year also, when  23 students appeared in the examination, and not a single student could pass even after 50% syllabus relaxation given by the authorities because of COVID-19 lockdown.
Talking to Arising state a parent (name withheld) said that the teachers are not showing any concern towards the poor students who are undergoing education in this school. ”They don’t do justice to their job. We lack proper teaching staff in the school, despite the fact that the school has a staff strength of 9. The school has shown poor performance for the last two consecutive years, but the authorities in the department don’t pay any heed to it.”
An education department official told the Arising State that it was unfortunate that this government school had zero percent results in class 10th exams for the last two years, considering that it had an adequate teaching staff.
Meanwhile, Anantnag District recorded this year 77.72 percent pass percentage.
Arising state also tried to contact CEO Anantnag, but his phone was continuously on out-of-reach mode.
