GMC Srinagar faculty member bags prestigious award

Anantnag: Dr Yasmeen Jabeen Bhat, Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy, Government of Medical College Srinagar bags prestigious award “Ambady Oration” one of the most prestigious award in India to be annually presented to an Indian dermatologist.

Dr Yasmeen was awarded the prestigious oration during the annual conference held at Jaipur.

She delivered the oration in online mode on the topic ‘The Versatility of Dermoscopy for Unveiling the Diagnosis- an Indian perspective’ in Dermacon, 50th Annual conference of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists ((IADVL) held at Jaipur from 4th-6th Feb, 2022.

The oration summed up her cumulative work done over many years, including 28 research publications, 7 chapters, 50 presentations in national and international conferences and three awards in the field of Dermoscopy, which is a novel diagnostic technique in Dermatology.

This oration is one of the greatest achievements and the well deserved honour in the subject of dermatology in India.

Earlier, Dr Yasmeen Jabeen also contributed as the associate editor of two textbooks ‘IADVL Atlas of Dermoscopy’ and ‘IADVL Recent Advances textbook of Dermatology’ which were released in October 2021 at Middermacon Mangaluru.

Dr Yasmeen, who hails from South Kashmir’s Anantnag is an alumni of GMC Srinagar and GMC Jammu.

She was earlier awarded the prestigious ACP Fellowship and the IFEP award at the 100th ACP meeting in Boston along with one month training on skin cancer screening at USA after which she introduced this novel technique of Dermoscopy in Kashmir.
