J&K Contractors body demands release of payments
J&K Contractors Co-ordination Committee has urged the authorities in J&K UT to release the long pending bills of the contractors against the projects completed.
The contractors Coordination Committee under the chairmanship of GH Jeelani purza ,on Friday ,flayed the Government in particular for a huge delay of about six months in clearing the bills for the works already completed under Languishing Projects Scheme. The committee said that they have been running from pillar to post requesting Govt officials to release their pending payments. However, their pleas have fallen on deaf ears. The committee has decided to stop all work under languishing project schemes in J&K till their demands are met. The committee has urged LG administration to look into the issue so that long-delayed payments can be released as soon as possible.
