Unknown gunmen shot dead policeman in Srinagar

Srinagar: A policeman has been shot dead by the unidentified gunmen in Batamaloo area of Srinagar on Sunday.

Sources said that a policeman was fired upon by the unidentified gunmen in SD Colony area of Batamaloo this evening.

They said that injured policeman was rushed to nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The deceased policeman has been identified as Tauseef Ahmad. Reports said that area has been cordoned off.

Dr. Kanwar Jeet Singh, Medical Superintendent, SMHS Hospital, Srinagar said that  Touseef had bullet injury in his head. “He was brought dead to hospital,” he added.
