Police arrest 04 drug peddlers in Khrew Pampore, recover Poppy straw & Cannabis

Awantipora: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pampore area of South Kashmir arrested a group of drug peddlers on Wednesday and recovered poppy straw and cannabis.
As per the official, “Continuing its drive against drug peddlers and its Propragators, Awantipora Police arrested four drug peddlers from Khrew area of Pampore.”
He said that, “the drug peddlers were arrested during vehicular checking at Wahabsahab Khrew area by Police Party of Police Station Khrew, under the supervision of SDPO Pampore, Imtiyaz Ahmad (JKPS).”
The drug peddlers have been identified as: Sahil Ahmed Jogi S/O Manzoor Ahmed Jogi R/O Mattan Anantnag, Mohd Iqbal Bhat S/O Ab Salam Bhat R/O Wahab Sahab, Manzoor Ahmad Shiekh S/O Ab Gani shiekh R/O Shar Shali, and Ajaz Ahmed Shiekh S/O Ab Rehman Shiekh R/O Shar Shali.
The arrested persons “were travelling in a vehicle Santro bearing registration number JK01M-7814, which was signaled to stop, and during thorough search, 11 Kgs of contraband substances, poppy straw(5kgs) and cannabis(6kgs) were recovered from the possession of the persons boarding in the said vehicle.”
“The vehicle santro used for the commission of the offence has also been seized.”
A case FIR Number 76/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Khrew.
