‘To mitigate unemployment’ Sheep husbandry distributes 25 sheep units to tribal families in Pulwama

Pulwama,12 October : With the ‘motive to mitigate unemployment’ Sheep husbandry department in Pulwama district of South Kashmir on Tuesday distributed around twenty five sheep units to tribal families in several areas of the district.

The units were distributed among the twenty-five tribal families, under Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) by the sheep husbandry department teams under the supervision of District Officer, Pulwama, Dr. Mohammad Shafi.

In a distribution function, held at Aripal tehsil of Pulwama district, 04 units of sheep were distributed in presence of Block Officer Tral, Mohammad Mustafa, and Block Officer Aripal, Dr. Rafie Ahmad.

Talking to Arising State Correspondent, District Officer, Sheep Husbandry, Pulwama, Mohammad Shafi has said that 50 sheep units were given to Pulwama district in total, out of which budget were released to 25 units.

He said that all the budget based units (twenty-five) were distributed on Tuesday in Pulwama areas on the basis of selection, “with remaining twenty-five units will also be distributed in new budget.”

As per the said officer, the units are being given to the poor and deserving tribal families in participating mode, so that ‘unemployment can be mitigated’

He said that out of ten sheep, department take two sheep (progenies) back from beneficiaries, after every two years, till the agreement process is completed, so that the new units can be established for more people.

Meanwhile, the beneficiaries have thanked the department of sheep husbandry for distributing the units to them, and demanded that more such benefits must be given to the tribals.
