Meet Masrat Naz first Pahari female singer who’s taken over social media with her songs

Kupwara,10 October : Masrat Naz,Pahari singer from Kupwara is creating a stir in  Jammu and Kashmir  giving  a new idiom to  pahadi singing thereby reviving its lost pride through her melodious voice.

Any new album or song of Masrat Naz spreads like a wildfire on the social media .Music listeners feel a connect with their motherland through her singing.

Born and brought up in Baramullah town of Kashmir region, Masarat found an online audience to applaud her talent .Masrat’s genre includes Pahadi Folk, urdu Gazalaz, Qawali, Punjabi, Gojri and Kashmiri. Masrat did her schooling from the government girls High school Boniyar.

Her love towards music started from childhood when she used to be the main player of the school’s prayer club and sing pahadi songs on the requests of friends and teachers.Masrat used to be the lead singer at her school functions and receive  appreciation from all .

Masrat Naz has become a singing sensation not only in Kashmir, but also in whole UT Jammu and Kashmir..

After belting out 200 songs, Masrat Naz is truly known as the singing sensation of valley. Music flows in her veins ,her father Noor Ali sheikh was also a singer and has  sung about 100 songs.

40 year old Masrat Naz has sung about 200 pahadi songs , her husband,Syed Tariq Pardesi is also a singer  . The hilly area, nestled between the snow-capped mighty peaks of mountains, has for ages loved the rendition of the Pahadi songs, Masrat Naz is on top of the wish list of the connoisseurs of Pahari, Gojri and kashmiri songs.

In the past 20 years, Masrat Naz has sung over 200 Pahari songs, besides hosting more than several stage shows. Masrat gains happiness from the fact that she has been able to contribute to popularizing the culture of the pahari community.

Masrat’s  Youtube channel ,“Masrat Naz songs” has a following of 100K .Masrat Naz’s several singing videos have millions of views on youtube and thousands have shared her songs.

Masrat Naz’s video is available on different platforms including youtube, spotify, itunes, saavn, tiktok, Gaana etc. Masrat received silver play award button award from YouTube for crossing 1 lakh subscribers.

She has also worked with All India Radio and has been an affiliated artist with JK Academy of Art culture and languages.
