Hailstorm wrecks havoc in pattan Villages

Pattan 15 May: The hailstorm accompanied by heavy rains lashed the apple orchards and fruit crops in pattan areas of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.

According to reports, the apple orchards and fruit crops were affected by hailstorms and heavy rains in pattan areas including Goushbugh, Aglar, lolipora, Magraypora and Sultanpora.

Reports add that hailstorms and heavy rains lashed for minutes in the said areas caused heavy loss and put farmers in distress.

Fruit crops have been flattened by this hailstorm, heavy rains and dashed our all hopes said a farmer Majeed Ahmad.

Meanwhile, apple growers and farmers appealed to the administration for compensation for their losses.
