Tral, 10 May: The RTPCR results arrive after week leaving people dismayed in Tral area of South Kashmir amid surge in Coronavirus cases day by day.

A group of locals expressed concern over the delay in RTPCR results, and said that tests take more than a week to arrive from Srinagar labs to Tral.

Mohammad Aamir, a local resident, while talking to Arising State has said that “I was tested postive for COVID-19, some 15 days back and was isolated at home.”

He said that “two RTPCR samples were taken by the concerned team since then, along with the samples of my family members, but the results are yet to come, due to which i am constantly quarantined.”

Similarly, many other positive cases and their contacts have been waiting for the results of their RTPCR, but the results are awaited for around one week.

Sources in the hospital on Monday afternoon have said that no RTPCR report came since last week, as according to them, tests are being sent to Srinagar labs, due to which delay in results occur.

Farooq Trali, a social activist, expressed concern over the delay in RTPCR results and said that “most of the peope whose samples have been taken roam freely, thereby involve more people to virus.”

He however praised the overall healthcare facilities in SDH Tral, but demanded that RTPCR tests should be taken to Anantnag rather than Srinagar, “as Srinagar witness major flow of tests everyday.”

Meanwhile, a top official in Sub District Hospital Tral has said that he is in constant contact with higher ups pertaining to issue.

The official appealed people particularly the positive cases and primary contacts to stay indoors and not to roam outside.
