Role of religious leaders in fighting the pandemic is imperative: DC Pulwama
Holds sensitisation meeting with Imams, Khateebs on Covid-19 containment
PULWAMA, APRIL 29: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Baseer Ul Haq Choudhary today convened a meeting of religious leaders, Imams, Khateebs, with an aim to motivate them to sensitize people about the pandemic.
While addressing the meeting, the DC said that Religious leaders have a key role in the battle against Covid-19.
He said that it is imperative that religious leaders come forward and counsel people regarding the curtailment of gatherings and social functions.
He urged upon them to proactively sensitize the people to adhere to Covid-19 SOPs.
During the meeting it was also decided that people will be motivated to offer Salah at home by Imams and Khateebs in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases for their betterment and only few people will attend prayers in mosques.
The DDC extended his gratitude to Imams and Khateebs for extending their cooperation in Covid-19 mitigation efforts.
