Soon after the Jammu and Kashmir government issued guidelines/SOPs in view of the current situation due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the administration in north Kashmir’s Sopore town decided to act tough against those found violating the protocols.

According to reports Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sopore, Parveez Sajad while interacting with the media said, ‘we are going to act tough against whosoever violates the covid protocols/SOPs this time as the situation is grim’.

He said, ‘Public transport (matadors/mini-buses/buses etc) in the jurisdiction of Sopore shall be permitted to ply only at 50% of its authorized seating capacity, besides shops shall be open on an alternate basis through a rotation system i.e with odd/even formula.

ADC urged people to cooperate with the civil and police administration in the implementation of the issued guidelines/protocols, adding that people can contact the concerned magistrates and SHO’s for any kind of help during the lockdown/night curfew period so that, they may not face any difficulties.
