SKIMS reserves 260 beds for Covid patients, shuts non emergency services except emergencies

Director SKIMS A G Ahangar, on Wednesday said the institution has reserved 260 beds for Covid patients and 156 Covid patients are presently admitted in the hospital.

Dr. Ahangar said 3 Covid patient care centres have been set up in SKIMS.
” We have shut down the services for non-Covid patients for the procedure that can be delayed for some time.  Emergency services for non-Covid like cancer management and all other emergencies are open at the moment,” he added.
He also informed that the current consumption rate of oxygen in the institute is 3.93 lakhs litre per hour and additional required amount of oxygen is 1.5 lakh per hour.
Director SKIMS said that he assures the people of Jammu and Kashmir that the SKIMS will leave no stone unturned to assist people in all possible capacities.

“No doubt we are facing some shortage of manpower and shortage of vaccine but we have taken it with the government, I am sure we will have it.” he added. (KNS)
