Tral: Hurdumir-Saimoh road in shambles, locals suffer

Tral, 18 April: The residents of Saimoh village in the Tral area of South Kashmir have been facing hardships as the link road from Hurdumir to Saimoh is in dilapidated condition.
The aggrieved residents have said that the road leading from Hurdumir to Saimoh village has developed potholes, due to which people face difficulties.
They said that “whenever it rains, the condition of road worsens aggravating the problems of its residents .”
One of the locals Ajit Singh that “a bridge was under construction on the said road, which took years to complete, and was recently thrown open for traffic after its completion.”
He said that all other roads in Tral were macadamized, but the road in Saimoh village is yet to be repaired.
“The road is repaired on a temporary basis, but rains usually wash it away. All other villages were macadamized, but the road in Saimoh village is still the same,” the local said.
The residents have demanded that the road from Hurdumir to Saimoh should be repaired at the earliest.
Meanwhile, Assistant Executive Engineer, R&B, Tral, Ishtiyaq Ahmad told Arising State that work on the Hurdumir-Saimoh Tral will be started soon.
