Anantnag: Two kids aged 7 and 4 in Frislan Pahalgam of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district have lost their mother last year to a brief illness, both kids have now pulled their socks up to earn money for the treatment of their sick father.
Bright and capable, grade two student, Roohie Jan had to start looking for avenues to make money for her father’s treatment when most of the children of her age are playing with toys. In her endeavour, Roohie goes every day to Betab valley, half a km away from her home, and asks the tourists for monetary help for her father’s treatment.
There are several people in the world who are deprived of parental affection. The same is the case with these two children living below the poverty line in Farsalan. They lost their mother last year.
Living with two kids in a tin shed at Frislan Pahalgam , Mohd Yousuf is professionally a labourer, suffering from kidney disease from the last six months.
Yousuf had left no stone unturned for the treatment of his disease but unfortunately, he has no source of income. Last year Muhammad Yusuf’s wife had also died due to a brief illness. According to Yousuf, her wife was also suffering from kidney disease.
The mother’s deprivation is evident on the smiling faces of the two young kids, and only those who have experienced such unfortunate times can very well understand their situation.
According to Muhammad Yusuf, the operation costs Rs. 60,000/-, but he will not be able to pay this huge amount. If Muhammad Yusuf’s illness is cured, two children will be saved from becoming orphans. All three of them are going through the most difficult time of their lives.
