Orthopedic unit lying defunct in absence of orthopedic doctors at Pattan Trauma hospital, patients suffer

Pattan, 11 Febuary : The orthopedic unit in Trauma hospital  Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district is lying defunct owing to the non-availability of orthopedic doctors thereupon make patients suffer immensely.

Sources said that the health department has installed a machine for orthopedic  patients, however, orthopedics Dr. Hilal Ahmad Malla was attached with COVID centre  at  Srinagar in April last year for two months only

They said that the doctor has not been relieved yet which makes patients suffer immensely for want of orthopedics at Trauma hospital.

Traders Federation president Pattan Nasir Bashir Shah told KNS that if the health department failed to detach Dr Hilal back to Pattan they will come on roads and launch agitation against the health department.

The locals said that besides Dr Hilal at least half a dozen pharmacists were also attached in different areas while they are drawing salaries from Pattan and performing duties in other places.

Locals appealed to finance commissioner health and medical education Atul Dullu, director of health services Kashmir Dr. Sameer Matoo, and DC Baramulla to look into the matter.
