Tral,03 February: The construction work on the mini secretariat in the Tral subdivision of South Kashmir is yet to be completed, even after the passing of three years since the work was started.

A group of locals on Wednesday told Arising State, “work on the project was started in the year 2018, however, it has witnessed constant delays, due to which it’s still incomplete.”

They said that if the project is completed in a stipulated time, locals of Tral sub-district may heave a sigh of relief, “as the tehsil office/ADC office usually witnesses the  rush of people, in absence of adequate space there.”

GM Bin Kantroo, a local social activist has said that “delay in the construction of mini secretariat is unfortunate, as it causes hardships to the people in existing tehsil/ADC office.”

He said that Citizens Council Tral also raised this issue with concerned officials many times, but nothing has been done so far.

Another local, Shuja Reshi has said that work on the project is going at a slow pace, and added that completion of the mini secretariat may give relief to the locals of the whole Tral sub-district.

The locals demanded immediate intervention of higher ups into the matter and requested them to ensure completion of the mini secretariat as soon as possible.

Additional DC Tral, S.A. Raina, when contacted, told Arising State that work on the mini secretariat shall be resumed under the languishing project, with an estimated cost of 6.40 crore, soon.
