Inspiring! Visually impaired Anantnag youth wins hearts with soulful vocals

Anantnag: Ishtiyaq Ahmad, a visually impaired boy, and a budding singing talent, is known for his beautiful renditions of Bollywood and Kashmiri songs, here in south Kashmir’s Anantnag District.

24-year-old Ishtiyaq Ahmad is blind by birth, but his melodious and soothing voice mesmerizes the locals at his village as he has become an inspiration for many other people in the south Kashmir area of Anantnag district.

Ishtiyaq had left studies in 7th class and had an interest in singing from childhood, Ishtiyaq is talented as he sings Bollywood and Kashmiri songs very beautifully.

The 24-year-old guy lives in a small, but picturesque village of Boochu kokernag in South Kashmir’s area of Anantnag District.

Speaking about his days of struggle, his father Mukhtar Ahmad told Arising State about his interest in singing from childhood due to which he received recognition and praise from the villagers for his efforts.

Mukhtar Ahmad is a labourer by profession but still, he helps his son in every possible way. He has bought every instrument for his lone son so that he may sing vehemently.

Ishtiyaq’s father confides that his son began to have eyesight issues at an early stage, slowly and steadily he lost his vision leaving him totally blind in his childhood days.

I could not let his problems browbeat him, and as a father I had to do everything possible in order to make him tough and independent, Mukhtar said.

Visually impaired Ishtiyaq Ahmad is the only son of Mukhtar Ahmad, Mukhtar has made a small room for his singing at his own residence.

Talking to the Arising State visually impaired Ishtiyaq Ahmad stated that his son having a poor family background, had never got a chance to see a good doctor that is why blindness became my destiny.

He added that his son sings very well and can sing several Bollywood and Kashmiri songs very beautifully. His son prefers not to lose hope and instead practice singing on a daily basis. He likes singing mostly classical songs.

Ishtiyaq had made a YouTube channel namely “Raja Sonu” where he has uploaded all his recorded songs.

His father is convinced that his son has a lot of talent. Through Arising State he requested the J&K government to provide small financial assistance for his son so that his dreams can come true.
