Drug peddler arrested in Awantipora, Cannabis recovered

Awantipora 29 Jan: Continuing its drive against the Drug peddlers and its propagators, Awantipora Police arrested one more drug peddler on Friday.

As per a press release, Acting on information, Reshipora Police Post placed a special Naka at Dahwatoo, and arrested one drug peddler identified as Shabir Ahmad Khan S/O Noor Mohammad Khan R/O Lethpora Awantipora.

“The vehicle Safari bearing registration number JK01X-1234 in which the arrested person was travelling has also been seized.”

As per the official, 05 Kgs of grinded cannabis and 500 grams of charas sticks were recovered from the possession of the said person.

Case FIR Number 19/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.

Police said that their consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that they are making efforts to keep the society free from the scourge of drug menace.
