JeM Militant with arms held in Bandipora: Police
The police on Thursday said that they have arrested JeM militant in Bandipora.
SSP Police, Rahul Malik in a joint press conference said that the militant identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan son of Fayaz Ahmad Khan a resident of Panzigam Bandipora aged around 24 years, who was missing from 12 days and had joined Jaish outfit.
From day one it was suspected he has been involved in “subversive activities,” the SSP said. The SSP said based on intelligence reports, he had moved towards Sopore on 26 January, after joint Cordon that day, the militant had managed to escape.
Following more inputs about his movement towards Bandipora today, the Joint Cordon of Police, CRPF, and Army was launched and the militant was arrested in the afternoon, he said.
The police said that the forces recovered five grenades a pistol and few rounds from his possession. Also, some more incrementing material was found at his hideout, the police said.The militant according to the SSP was influenced by his militant friend Umar Shaban who was killed in Sopore. Malik said, from one year he was being misguided and was counselled too but he was adamant and took the extreme path.
