Poor manpower available for web based MIS: JK to Centre

Srinagar: Authorities from Jammu and Kashmir have informed the central government that very less manpower was available with the Mid Day Meal (MDM) department for web based Management Information System (MIS).In the Annual Work Plan and Budget (AWPB) 2020-21, the Government of India (GoI) asked the Jammu and Kashmir authorities on availability of manpower for web based MIS.It has been learnt that the JK has stated, “There is very less manpower available for web based MIS at district, zonal and block level. However, the data entry on MIS portal is made by the data entry operators engaged under erstwhile Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) as per the instructions of GoI, MHRD.”The officials in the meeting also said that the training is being imparted to the stakeholders as master trainers from Food Craft Institute, Nagrota Jammu in respect of Jammu Division and Institute of Hotel Management, Rajbagh Srinagar for Kashmir Division.In the meantime, the officials while stating the targets for the next year, they said, “Batch of 180 CCHs from both the Division shall be trained as master trainer in the year 2020-21 on quarterly basis, who in turn impart training to all 10000 CCHs.”Stating the methods to deal with unhygienic food of MDM, the officials said that the instruction has been given to the cooks and the dealing teachers to avoid any unhygienic activity or lapses while cooking and serving MDM to the children.”“Fresh water taps have been installed in the schools. Besides, the Health Department and Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, (FCS&CA) are being repeatedly requested for conducting regular meetings with Education Department and to ensure all safety measures be adopted to tackle any untoward incident,” the officials said.
