Tral: The residents of Narastan village in Aripal tehsil of Tral Sub division in South Kashmir on Wednesday staged protest against the lack of basic facilities.

The aggrieved residents assembled near Sumo Stand in Narastan village, and said that they have been facing immense hardships in absence of basic amenities like healthcare, water supply, and proper electricity supply.

One of the locals has said that sumo drivers are also overcharging for travelling from Tral to Narastan, with no intervention of anyone.

He said that before COVID-19 breakout, “the fare charge on the same route was Rs 35 and now we are being charged Rs 40 for the same, even after clarification from the concerned authorities”.

The villagers said that back to back pleas to concerned departments have turned into deaf ears.

They sought immediate intervention of higher ups into the matter, and demanded all the facilities in the village at the earliest.
