Altaf Thakur visits several Tral villages, listens to public grievances, assures timely redressal

Srinagar, Jan 20: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K spokesman Altaf Thakur on Wednesday visited several villages of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

On that occasion, he met a delegation of shopkeepers, whose shops were demolished in main town, and assured them of rehabilitation on a fast track basis.

Thakur also urged the authorities “to immediately repair Batnoor-Karmulla and Batnoor-Hergam road without any further delay, as the dilapidated roads are causing huge inconvenience to the people and the commuters”.

In a statement issued today, Thakur said that he met some delegations including the shopkeepers, who apprised him that their “shops were dismantled by the authorities, following which a separate land was notified for construction of shops for them, however, the project got stuck in hitches”.

Thakur urged the district administration to speed the work of allotment of shops to the traders, who are suffering since long and ensure their proper rehabilitation within the shortest possible time.

He paid visit to “dozens of villages in Tral that include Lalpora,  Batnoor, Karmulla, Hergam, Chewa, Dodamarg and other areas, where he met various delegations, who briefed him about day to day problems faced by them”.

The BJP leader ‘assured the local delegations that their issues will be addressed on priority’ and that he will pursue their demands with the higher ups and concerned authorities.

“The locals of Tral areas hailed the alertness and people friendly approach of Thakur.”
