Tral: Dangling wires, dilapidated poles pose threat to Bhatnoor residents
BASHARAT RASHID
Tral, 14 Jan: Dangling low tension wires continue to pose threat to the lives of people at Dangar-Mohalla in Bhatnoor Tral, ‘as sub divisional authorities have turned a blind eye’ towards this menace.
Apart from that, the dilapidated and tilted electricity poles installed on the lanes are also a big hindrance for the people, with wires supported by trees at many portions instead of poles.
The residents staged silent protest and said that they have been waiting for the restoration of power line for four years, but no action is being taken to make it possible.
They further said that poles were earlier given by the concerned wing, which were unfortunately taken back, due to the reason better known to the PDD authorities.
The residents demanded new poles and wires in the area at the earliest.
DDC member for Tral block, Dr Harbaksh Singh told Arising State that administration should come forward to redress such grievances, and assured that he himself will ensure the mitigation of water and power crisis, after new budget allocation.
