Pulwama: Low power voltage in Shar-I-Shali area of Pampore in Pulwama district has led to water shortage for over a week.

The residents told Arising State that they are not receiving proper water supply for last one week, due to which they are facing hardships, amid chill.

They said that water supply was initially affected due to the technical snag in 10 MVA transformer at receiving station Konibal Pampore, “but even after the installation of new transformer, water crisis are yet to be ended.”

One of the locals Aashiq Hussain has said that new transformer is giving low voltage, due to which all the three water supply schemes titled as: Water Supply Scheme Wahab Sahab, Chalkhargaam Water Supply Scheme, Mundakpal Water Supply Scheme, continues to remain defunct.

He said that ‘water supply is being provided for only one or two hours’ a day now, ‘but that is not sufficient’ for the people.

The residents sought immediate intervention of administration, particularly of PHE & PDD officials into the matter.
