DC Anantnag visits M&CCH Hospital & various markets, seized two clinics

14 doctors found absent from their duties

Anantnag, 10 Jan: Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Mr.K.K Sidha along with Chairman MC, and other officers on Sunday visited Maternity & Child Care Hospital SherBagh Anantnag.

On that occasion, he enquired about the Medicare facilities & heating arrangements being provided to the patients.

During the visit DC inspected various wards and sections of the hospital, where he found 14 Doctors absent from their duties and directed In charge Medical Superintendent to explain their cause of absence.

Many attendants raised the issue of unnecessary referrals and sought DC’s intervention in this behalf and also for construction of fencing the side of Masjid Sharif.

They also demanded for establishment of a canteen to cater the needs of the patients as well as attendants coming to the hospital from remote areas of Districts of South Kashmir & Banihal.

The DC also made an extensive visit of various markets of Anantnag Town including Lal Chowk, Reshi Bazar, Sheer Bagh, Mattan Chowk, Iqbal Abad, KP road, Gen. Bus Stand & old KMD Bus Stand to take stock of the snow clearance from foot paths, interior roads and all transport stands. He also monitored snow clearance operations at Gen. Bus Stand to ensure easy movement of general public and traffic regulation.

He directed Municipal authorities to ensure clearance of foot paths and warned the shopkeepers and vendors not to encroach foot paths.

He also directed Municipal Authorities issue legal notices to the erring shopkeepers who have encroached foot paths.

The DC during the visit seized two clinics including Moqbol Pharmacy and Al-Qadir Medical Store where Govt. Doctors were found practicing during their duty hours and also for not adhering to Covid-19 SOP’s & Guidelines.

He also seized NITCO transport Company for wrong parking of heavy trucks on main road side causing difficulties for general public and local transport.

Moreover, the Municipal Council and line departments have been directed to ensure prompt delivery of essential items and services to the general public and to address their emergency demands with utmost preparedness.
