Municipal council Anantnag conducts snow clearance drive

Anantnag 04 January: The Municipal council Anantnag (MCA) on Monday successfully removed snow from the roads on all-important stretches running through the town and connecting important destinations, with a special focus on the roads leading to hospitals, religious places, and the government offices here in South Kashmir’s Anantnag District.

The Municipal council Anantnag took stock of the snow clearance operations within the town. The team headed by ACR Anantnag Syed Yasir visited various places in the town including GMC Anantnag and MCCH sherbagh hospital and took stock of the snow clearance measures.

Talking to the Arising state ACR Anantnag Syed Yasir said that Men and machinery were deployed across the town and also directions were issued for effective clearance and access to healthcare facilities and other places of public importance like shrines and mosques in the town.

”In case there is any by-lane with snow accumulation, the administration has established helpline numbers and locals can get in touch with our helpline for redressal purpose,” said ACR Anantnag Syed Yasir who also holds the charge of Executive officer Municipal  Council Anantnag.

He said that the MCA had set priority areas after the heavy snowfall on Sunday. He said the immediate priority was to ensure all roads leading to hospitals and religious places, including shrines in Anantnag town, are cleared for movement of people and traffic.

The important Anantnag town Road was also attended to early in the morning.

Furthermore, ACR Anantnag Syed Yasir visited PHC Mattan and SDH Seer along with tehsildar Mattan to ensure that patient care is not affected in any way.
