02 notorious drug peddlers arrested in Awantipora, 2.2 Kgs of Charas, Cash recovered

Awantipora 01 Jan: Continuing its drive against the Drug peddlers and its propagators, Awantipora Police arrested two drug peddler from Reshipora area of the district.
Acting on information, Awantipora Police placed a special Naka at Reshipora Bunpora near irrigation gauge and arrested two drug peddlers identified as: Gulzar Ahmed Ganie S/O Ghulam Mohammed Ganie R/O Braw Bandina, & Bilal Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohammed Ramzan Bhat R/O Kulpora Lassipora Pulwama.
An official has said that 2.20 Kgs of contraband substance charas and Cash amount of Rs 50,000 (Fifty Thousand only) were recovered from the possession of arrested persons boarding in the said vehicle.
He said that vehicle Santro bearing registration number JK03B-9591 used in the commission of the said crime has also been seized.
“During on spot questioning of the arrested duo admitted that the seized money pertains to the proceeds of the narcotic substances,” official said.
A case FIR Number 01/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS law stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
Police said that community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood, “and the persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt strictly under law.”
