Tral, 31 Dec: The residents of Gujjar Basti Karmulla in the Tral sub-district on Thursday have expressed resentment against the authorities for failing to provide them with the basic facilities.

The aggrieved residents told Arising State that the road leading towards the upper reaches of Karmulla village is in a dilapidated condition, due to which they suffer on daily basis.

They said: “whenever it rains, the road turns muddy, thereby giving tough time to pedestrians, particularly the school-going children.”

A delegation of locals assembled near the Karmulla village today and alleged that “besides the dilapidation of the road, Barinad, Leenad, Bangipal & Bagandar areas in Karmulla usually witness power and water crisis, which is the matter of grave concern.”

They said that residents visited pillar to post to seek the redressal of their demands particularly the repairs to the main road, ‘but nothing was done.’

“We have been demanding the renovation of the main road, which has turned pathetic and is posing threat to residents in these chilly days. Authorities turned a blind eye towards our pleas and left us on the mercy of God,” locals said.

The residents sought immediate intervention of authorities into the matter.

It’s pertinent to mention here that Karmullah village exercised their vote more than 60% votes in the DDC elections, held a few weeks back, in Jammu & Kashmir.
