One ‘militant’ killed in Hokarsar Srinagar, gunfight continues

Srinagar: A ‘militant’ has been killed in a gunfight that started on Tuesday evening between the ‘militants’ and govt. forces at Hokarsar area of Lawapora in Srinagar outskirts.
Sources said that “the operation was suspended for night, which resumed this morning, following which an unidentified militant has been killed.”
They said that, on second consecutive day, ‘heavy firing was going on’ near the encounter site.
Earlier, “a cordon and search operation was launched by the joint forces, on the basis of inputs, about the presence of the militants, which turned into a gunfight, after the militants fired at the forces, from the suspected spot.”
Reports said that all the entry and exit points were sealed soon after the gunfight was started, while traffic on Srinagar-Baramulla highway was diverted via Magam-Budgam.
