Burglar’s strike at cowsheds in Anantnag District, dozens of cows and sheep stolen in several villages in Anantnag

Anantnag: Dozens of cows and sheep were stolen by burglars during the last week in the south Kashmir’s area of Anantnag District.
The Arising state received various complaints from several villages in Anantnag District that during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday thieves barged into the villages in Anantnag district and managed to steal cows and sheep.
According to Sources last week during the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday thieves barged into the village Larkipora, Anantnag and managed to steal 8 cows.
The cows belong to Reyaz Ahmad Rather, Farooq Ahmad Rather, and Bashir Ahmad Ganie, all residents of Larkipora near polytechnic college.
Sources said that in the Mir Danter area of Anantnag town thieves managed to steal 6 cows during the intervening night.
Similar reports of animal theft have been received from several villages of south Kashmir’s kokernag,Dooru , Achabal, and Bijbehara areas where burglars have stolen cattle worth crores of rupees in the last month. These cattle belong to poor families residing in these rural areas ,who have no other means of income.
While talking to the Arising state the residents said that they have requested several times to concerned police officials about the growing thefts in the area but the police have as usual turned a deaf ear to their cries for help.
They later appealed to District Magistrate Anantnag KK Sidha and SSP Anantnag Sandeep chowdary to constitute a SIT to nab those involved in the theft.
