DDC elections will bring new era of development in J&K: Nitish
Jammu: With the introduction and successful conduct of District Development Council (DDC) Elections in Jammu and Kashmir, a new era of development will start in the Union Territory and democracy would be brought at the doorstep of the masses. This was stated by BJP Executive Member, Nitish Mahajan while addressing party workers meeting here at Gandhi Nagar Constituency segment. Nitish said that with the successful conduct of DDC elections, every facility would be provided to the people on the ground level and people residing in the far-flung and marginalized areas would get their due representation and would have their own chosen representatives. He asserted that the chosen representatives would address the grievances and issues of the masses very keenly besides would strengthen the democracy at grass root level in the UT which has face setbacks for the last 70 years by the successive regimes.
“Holding of DDC elections in the UT was a historical step of PM Modi led government which no other party in the country could have done,” Nitish said and added that this will develop democracy and would have more public participation. Nitish said that in DDC elections public participation would be all-time high and people who were ignored by the successive governments would participate in the democratic setup and decision making. “All the credit of the same goes to BJP which is committed for the peace, development, and prosperity of J&K.,” He said that for the last seven decades, the people of Jammu and Kashmir were deprived of their rights and failed by the successive governments and BJP after coming in power has addressed the issues of masses and did justice with them. Nitish said that under the able leadership of PM Modi J&K has gained a developmental charm and the BJP led Central Govt is committed to the overall development and progress in J&K.
