Tral: Nahir residents demand drainage system, ADC says ‘will seek report’

Tral, 14 Dec: The residents of Nahir hamlet situated in Tral subdivision of South Kashmir have expressed resentment over the lack of a drainage system on the roadside.
The aggrieved residents said that road in between Nahir & Khasipora villages is day by day shrinking which poses threat to the drivers, commuters & pedestrians.
They said , “even a single-vehicle can’t pass through the road, which got shrunk from time to time, in absence of a drainage system.”
Ghulam Mohammad Shah, a local told Arising State that they had demanded drainage even before the said road was macadamized, a few years back.
He said that road was later macadamized, “but no drainage system was constructed on the roadside, due to which roads gets damaged, with each passing day”.
The residents of both Nahir & Khasipora villages sought immediate intervention of authorities into the matter and demanded that a drainage system should be constructed at the earliest.
Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Tral, when contacted, told Arising State that he will look into the matter and ‘will seek report’ soon.
