Anantnag,24 Nov: Election battle between contestants is quite common, but this time the DDC elections that are going to be held from 28 November this year are witnessing something new in the Verinag block area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag District. while five candidates have filed their nominations from Verinag block including BJP, PAGD, congress, and two independent candidates.

However, a  party candidate recently expelled from the party is all out to fight against the same party candidate in Verinag block. The candidate has promised people that he won’t let it all hang out until he defeats the candidate and his party.

36-year-old Peer Shahbaz who has recently been expelled by the Congress party was once the block president in the Verinag area. While talking to the Arising state, Shahbaz said,” I have represented as block president of Congress party for two years in Verinag area. The reason behind my expulsion from the party has been my vociferous criticism about the development and unemployment issues that have not been addressed in the  Verinag block .”

Shahbaz said that the Congress party has always betrayed the sentiments of people from the Verinag area. Everybody is aware of the congress party they have always encouraged dynasty rule particularly in the Verinag area which will not be allowed further, said Peer Shahbaz an independent candidate from Verinag.

Shahbaz said, ”the whole Verinag area is supporting him to contest the DDC election against Mir Naseer who is the son of JKPCC Chief GH Ahmad Mir. I am thankful to all Verinag people who are supporting me to contest this election and have trust in my work and leadership”, Shahbaz said.

Meanwhile,  both candidates have enough support of people in the Verinag block. The independent candidate Peer Shahbaz has participated recently in an election campaign in which scores of people have participated. The fight between the two candidates is going tough in Verinag block, sources said.
