Anantnag, 04 Oct: Belying tall claims of the Anantnag administration of macadamizing the roads in the district the residents of Shangas village alleged that the officials of the concerned department are not paying attention to the hardships of its residents, who face tremendous hardship due to the bad condition of the road.
The residents of Shangas village today complained that due to the bad condition of the road, the commuters, including students, patients, or drivers face immense hardships to reach their respective destinations. The presence of potholes on the main road manifolds during bad weather thus making roads accident-prone. The inhabitants blamed R&B Department for being responsible for the whole mess.
The inhabitants told Arising state that potholes and cracks have developed at various places on the main road of Shangas. “This road is vital as most of the vehicles pass through it and it connects dozens of other adjoining villages including Anantnag,” they said.
Manzoor Ahmad a resident of Shangas said that the road is dotted with multiple potholes and the road condition is in shambles. It takes plenty of time to transport patients and expecting mothers to the hospital which increases the patient risk.
The residents have appealed to the Anantnag administration to intervene in the issue and make possible redressal of their problem.
