77th Republic Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour at Sports Stadium Budgam

Budgam, January 26: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, national pride, and patriotic fervour across district Budgam. The main function was held at the Sports Stadium Budgam, where Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat (IAS), Deputy Commissioner Budgam, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute, accompanied by Shri Nikhil Borkar (IPS), SSP Budgam.

After inspecting the parade, the Deputy Commissioner addressed the gathering, reaffirming commitment to the constitutional values of justice, equality, and unity, while highlighting key developmental initiatives undertaken for public welfare.

The ceremonial march-past featured contingents from CRPF, J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, Women Police Wing, Home Guards, NCC, and students from various educational institutions. The parade was commanded by Shri Ishaan Aziz, JKPS, DySP PC Chadoora, with SI Tanveer Ahmad Khan as Second-in-Command.

The function was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam Shri Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, heads of district civil administration and senior officers of Budgam Police, along with prominent citizens and a large number of school children.

The celebrations were further enriched by vibrant cultural performances including Kashmiri Rouff, patriotic songs, ghazals, and Bhangra, reflecting India’s rich cultural diversity and unity in spirit.

On the occasion, prizes and appreciation certificates were awarded to best-performing contingents and meritorious officers and officials for their dedicated public service.

Meanwhile, the 77th Republic Day-2026 was also celebrated with equal zeal and patriotic spirit across all police establishments of district Budgam, where SDPOs, SHOs and In-charge Police Posts unfurled the National Flag.
