74th Independence Day celebrated in Handwara
74th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor, gaiety & lots of patriotic enthusiasm at District Police Lines Handwara.
Police, Army, CAPF, and other forces participated in the Independence Day parade which concluded peacefully.
Add. Deputy Commissioner Handwara Nazir Ahmad Mir accompanied by SP Handwara Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy-IPS unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past at DPL Handwara.
Chief Guest inspected the parade and took salute on March Past presented by the contingents of JKP, IRP, SSB, BSF, CRPF and Home Guards.
ASP Handwara Shri Mashkoor Ahmad-JKPS CO’s of SSB, CRPF, BSF, 21 RR, Medical Superintendent DH Handwara, Executive Engineers of PHE, PDD, I&FC, R&B Division Handwara, BDC Chairman Langate, Chairman Municipal Committee Handwara, respectable citizens of PD Handwara and other officers of Police and civil administration were also present on the occasion.
Chief guest (ADC Handwara) and SP Handwara in their address congratulated the participants for celebrating 74th Independence Day, the and also appreciated the COVID Warriors for their selfless efforts during Pandemic. The martyrs of Police and CAPF who sacrificed their lives for the nation were paid rich tribute.
In the end, the prizes were distributed among the best contingents of the parade and other participants and the NOK’s of Police martyrs.
The prizes and appreciation certificates from Police and Civil administration were also given to the Police Personnel and other civil employees for their best performance during Corona Virus who tirelessly worked hard by putting their lives at risk in safeguarding the general public.
