Three Militants killed in Tral gunfight

Three militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out in Chewa Ullar village of Tral in Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
The gunfight between militants and security forces broke out on Thursday evening and went on till Friday morning.
The gunbattle was briefly halted on Thursday night.
Reports said that all the three militants have been killed in the exchange of fire. Two armed forces personnel also suffered injuries.
Officials confirmed that all the three militants are local youth who had taken up arms to join militancy. They belonged to the Tral area.
An official said, “joint team police, Indian Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Police Reserve Force (CRPF) had launched a cordon and search operation based on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area”.
They said that as the joint team of forces approached, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated and triggered an encounter.
The identity of slain militants was confirmed by officials as, Mohammad Qaasim Shah alias Jugnu, Basit Ahmad Parray, and Haris Manzoor Bhat.
