Omar Abdullah Refutes Claims of PDP Support for NC-Congress Alliance, Urges Restraint Amid Speculation
Srinagar ,07Oct: On Monday, Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference (NC), clarified that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has neither extended nor offered any formal support to the NC-Congress alliance.
He urged restraint amid growing rumors, stating, “I wish we could put a lid on all this premature speculation for the next 24 hours.”
Omar Abdullah was responding to comments made by his father, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, regarding potential support from PDP leaders. He emphasized, “They haven’t extended support, they haven’t offered support, and we don’t know what the voters have decided yet. I really wish we could stop all this premature speculation for the next 24 hours.”
Earlier, Dr. Farooq Abdullah had said, “Even if we don’t need it, we will accept the support (from PDP) because, to move forward, we must work together. We all must make an effort to save this state, which is facing many challenges. Educated youth have no jobs, inflation is skyrocketing, and drug abuse is rampant.”
