15961 voters to exercise their franchise in Phase-IV tomorrow, 83 candidates in fray

83 candidates shall try their luck tomorrow in Phase-IV of DDC and Panchayat by-elections in Aloosa Block of Bandipora district.
According to District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), seven candidates are in fray for Aloosa constituency of the District Development Council (DDC) while five candidates are contesting on two vacant Sarpanch seats in the block and 71 candidates are fighting for 31 Panch seats. 21 Panchs were elected unopposed while three Panch seats are vacant.
15961 voters will exercise their franchise including 8367 Male voters and 7594 female voters in Aloosa DDC constituency. There are 42 polling stations in the block. Adequate arrangements have been made possible by the district administration to ensure smooth conduct of polls.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Phase-IV of District Development Council (DDC) elections and Panchayat by-elections, 42 designated polling parties along with election/poll material were today dispatched to the Polling stations set up in Aloosa block.

The distribution of Poll material among the Polling Parties along with their departure from the Distribution Centre was done amid tight security and in observance of covid-19 protocol under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmad.
