02 drug peddlers arrested in Budgam; contraband substance recovered

Budgam, 09th July: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Budgam Police have arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.

During Naka checking at General road Kaich Razgeer, the Police party of Police Station Khansahib intercepted one vehicle (Maruti) bearing registration No JK04C-3734 coming from Raithan towards Bagroo. During preliminary questioning, the driver disclosed his name as Abdul Rashid Ganie S/o Ghulam Mohd Ganie R/o Hanji gund Ichigam Budgam and his accomplice as Firdous Ahmad Najar S/o Ghulam Nabi Najar R/o Harwanan Gund Darwash. During the search of said Vehicle 03 nylon bags in which illicit poppy straw (Fukki) weighing about 24 Kgs was recovered.

Both the accused have been arrested and said the vehicle used for the commission of the crime has also been seized.

Case FIR No. 86/2023 under relevant sections of law stands registered at P/S Khansahib and an investigation taken up.
