TA Jawan Abducted by Militants in Anantnag, One Escapes with Injuries
Anantnag: In a disturbing incident, militants allegedly abducted a Territorial Army (TA) jawan in the Shangus area of Kokernag, Anantnag district. The abducted soldier has been identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat, 26, son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, a resident of Mukdampora, Nowgam. He serves with the 162 TA unit.
Another soldier, Nk Fiyaz Ahmad Sheikh, 36, who also belongs to the 162 TA unit, managed to escape despite sustaining injuries to his left shoulder and leg. He has been shifted to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
The Indian Army, along with the J&K Police, has launched a massive search operation to locate the abducted jawan and track down the militants involved.
